Slovak Paralympic Team results in Beijing
The Slovak Paralympic Team Beijing 2008 consisted of 36 athletes in ten disciplines / athletics, boccia, cycling, equestrian, archery, swimming, table tennis, shooting, wheelchair tennis, powerlifting/, 6 member delegation head, 27 trainers and assistants.
At the XIII Paralympic Games our team was of medium size among participating countries. Our athletes received 6 medals and 24 placed in the top eight, which ranked Slovakia in the 39th position among 146 participating countries.
The most successful sport discipline was table tennis. We received in total 4 medals /1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze/. The second with also a gold medal was shooting. Veronika Vadovičová received the very first gold medal from the 4011 participating athletes at the XIII Paralympic Games. The third was cycling with one silver medal.

Besides the mentioned medalists, it is important to recognize the excellent efforts of our cyclist Vladislav Janovjak with his guide Róbert Mitošinka, swimmer Vierka Mikulášiková, shooter Radoslav Malenovský and sprinter Hanka Kolníková. All of them came close to receiving a medal.
